Genius & Easily Raising Your IQ

I watched an interesting video by Jeffery Ford, someone who has managed to become a member of member of 16 high IQ societies. In the video, he claims that IQ can be improved.

How to listen correctly

• Accept that words mean what they mean

  People argue over "Well, what I thought you meant was..."

• Accept what's being conveyed with you
• Don't listen waiting to speak; be active

  Tune out the voices in your head that are trying to make you say something

• Ask questions

  There is nothing wrong with looking stupid or igonrant

• Don't judge what people are saying why they are saying it to you (Don't judge so quick)

  You need to wait until you have all the information

• Take notes

How to read intelligently

• Consider the source of everything (age, environment, era of college attendance, place of birth, gender, who, date)

  Identify all biases with the information.

Increasing your attention span

• Learn to be comfortable in your own company and in silence
• Create a nice environment
• Have have special interest (passion) where you can incrementally shift that passion to other things
• Diet: know your body

Developing the mental syntax necessary for higher level thoughts

• Develop really really good grammar
• Increase your vocabulary
• Music
• Math(structure, systems, patterns)

Creating a strong intellectual environment for you to live in

• Quiet
• Still
• peace
• Encourage daydreams
